Well, we rang in 2008 til the wee hours of the morning and had a lot of fun laughing with friends. The kids were great and played the whole night without any problems, concerns or incidents...2008 is already proving to be miraculous. I actually cried during the countdown because I was so terrified to leave 2007 behind...I mean my level of nostalgia touched an all-time high, especially because there just ain't no Dick Clark apple-dropping countdown in this country. My friends were like what is up with you? Then, about a half an hour after the clock struck twelve, I went outside to enjoy some gloom and doom alone time and as I was sitting there on the step, the most bizarre thing happened: a butterfly attacked me. What the hell was a butterfly doing flitting around at that hour in that cold? You have to understand that my mom and I associate my grandfather who passed away three years ago with a butterfly, because every time we come to Baltimore, this monarch butterfly suddenly appears and flies around the pool. So my mom and I are always like, that's Pop coming for a visit. Well, Pop came to visit last night and suddenly I came back to life and partied the rest of the night.
And then, today, also thanks to a special friend who has inspired me, I began writing for the first time in a long time, knocked out three chapters and have a story in my head...can't wait to see how it unfolds. Not only will there be a return of the Luca character, but there will be a love story for a twelve year old girl with bilateral bling bling cis. The creative juices are flowing, trying to keep them alive.
Happy 2008 to all...we're heading back to the farm for some leftovers!

Val,
You are so funny, I'm so happy you exist!:)btw nice mug!Thank you for your note, kiss those kids, Jodi
Oooohhh, a girl character! Can't wait:)
Happy New Year, Jodi.
well let me tell you, this country ain't got a Dick Clark either, but if you look very closely, Carson Daley is starting to look just like good old Dick!!! So Carson Daley's Rockin eve might as well be Dick Clark's. I don't even think they showed the poor guy this year in the bleachers like they usually do. Anyhow, I have finally made an appearance on your blog. Kudos fair sister! I believe you've done it!
Dearest NC TRICKY,
I assume you are my sister. How nice of you to visit your sister's blog, I am honored. Hope you had fun last night celebrating your half birthday, I've been thinkin' of you! Do you know that the book is on Chicago's gay pride page...? You give my best to all the Dykes in the City, rap on. BTW, you can have the sofa in NYC hahahahaha Jodi
Jodi,
I'm so proud of you! I can't wait to read the new book. Don't worry, I didn't have Dick Clark or Carson Daley either. I was in the Poconos being consumed by "The Wire". Happy New Year!
Congrats Jodi!
What has happened with the book is amazing!
I'm so proud of you!
