Gag me. Seriously, he's pissing me off with all his last-minute executive orders. Just to be spiteful.

I will have to admit that this gave me quite a chuckle. However, if memory serves me correctly, (as I learned this fact when Saddam Hussien was captured), it is actually in the Arabic culture that pounding a shoe on someone's face in a picture is considered to be one of the worst insults towards that person. I guess this guy chose to do that on the real person as opposed to a poster of Bush ;)

Is there a transcript for us, the deafies to read what Bush say that got some people pissed off?

Thanks!

Sorry, Marin- I posted this and Jordan and Sofia booted me off the computer to watch a film. The clip cuts straight to the shoe attack, so I don't know what he was saying...but I'll try to provide a transcript for the what he said after "the attack," which was a lot of bs *smile*. Jodi

Ya gotta remember-- he is the one who used the surge and will be passing over a nearly completed war to the next administration, whether you agree that anyone should have ever gone to Iraq to stop the atrocities toward women and children, etc. I'm not saying we should have-- that's always a big question regarding wars-- and I'm not saying we didn't screw up the beginning and the middle of this war. But it's nearly over with the majority of Iraqis actually very pleased with the results and only extremists are acting like that shoe thrower.

My point is that he is a Suuni who hated Bush... even though now most Sunnis, who were one an extremist group that terrorized and killed, are patrolling and assisting democracy in Iraq. Kurds, innocent families, children... are safer today than they ever were around Hussein. Baghdad might once again develop into the jewel of Arabia.

But maybe we should have stayed out and let them deal with the trouble. I dunno. It wasn't our business.
